I at all times enjoy your writing, Brie. very fascinating article, I like the thought of a Cob such a structure was constructed partially within the floor, they are much easier to heat and cool. I’ve a good friend that built a passive solar system that used reclaimed car antifreeze. the antifreeze ran through a pvc pipe grid within the ground to a solar panel for heating and into a large container buried underground the place the ambient temperature stays at round fifty five degrees.
i like this text and im within the process of going off grid and must be gone to it by 2012.. im building a picket yurt.. they’re reliable.. sturdy and efficient and you’ll by one beneath twenty-thousand dollars.. i can not wait to leave this society and get again to fundamentals.. keep in mind.. all you might want to survive is food.. water and shelter and fireplace.
I don’t suppose one hub will affect enough readers to turn the public away from underground homes. Once I wrote this, the only info I found online, together with a couple of hubs, was nothing however advertising hype and how-to movies. I wish different individuals who reside in underground homes would write about their personal experiences. I’m a journalist, so I think it only fair to present each side of the equation, although both sides could also be polarized.
I used to have a friend who would sometimes borrow only a couple hundred dollars for a car repair or tires. I’d inform her that if she would save $20 monthly, then she would have $240 within the bank after a year for emergency expenses—at the least the smaller ones. She simply couldn’t appear to get into it, did not appear to care sufficient to attempt it.
